Responsible for the following functions within the KZNBCC:

  • Take charge of the Committee’s administration and execute its decisions.
  • Assume responsibility for managing the Committee’s financial affairs.
  • Assume overall managerial responsibility and provide strategic leadership for the organization, ensuring that all functions are carried out efficiently and cost effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws by all persons licensed or registered to work in the betting industry and institute steps to investigate allegations of illegal betting activities.
  • Ensure proper enforcement of the Ordinance (No. 28 of 1957) and relevant gambling laws in the province and make recommendations to the Committee in respect of disciplinary action and disputes.
  • Provide the Board with comprehensive monthly management and financial reports.
  • Advise the Committee on all betting-related matters both locally and abroad, and make recommendations on changes to betting policy and legislation.
  • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with other gambling industry regulators, both locally and abroad, and with relevant local law enforcement bodies.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and the application of high ethical standards in internal practices and external relationships.
