Responsible for the following functions within the KZNBCC
- Inspection of bookmaker's records (as per the Regulation of Racing and Betting Ordinance of 1957).
- Conduct audits on records (on and off-course bookmakers (as per the Regulation of Racing and Betting Ordinance of 1957)).
- Visit licensed premises and carry out inspections to ascertain if they are clean and sanitary and comply with the requirements laid out in the Ordinance.
- Carry out onsite inspections of proposed new premises for bookmaking businesses and report on their suitability and make recommendations.
- Liaise with other stake holders in the Racing and Betting industry on matters of mutual interest.
- Handle betting disputes between all stakeholders.
- Ensure that persons that have been declared defaulters by either the KZNBCC or the Horse Racing Authority of Southern Africa are not allowed to enter or remain on licensed premises.
